Luther King Class
Welcome back to Autumn 2! The children have settled really well into Year 6 and to the expectations for their learning. It was lovely meeting you all at parents evening; thank you for your support at home with reading, timestables, spellings and homework. We have completed our topic on Migration from the last half term and the children enjoyed studying the different aspects of migration in the different subjects. This half term we are studying the Arctic and the Antarctic in our Frozen Kingdom topic.
The team working in Year 6 is: Mrs Preston (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday); Mrs Bartley (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday); Ms Blackwood (English and Maths groups); ) and Donna.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to come and speak to us. We are always happy to see you!
Thank you again for your continued support.
Daily Homework: 30 minutes of reading, a page of times table and spelling practice. We expect the children to fill in their reading record daily and an adult to sign it weekly.
Homework: The children will also receive homework every day. This is a mixture of English and Maths work as well as research homework for different subjects. The research homework is set on Fridays and needs to be completed and handed in by Monday.
PE takes place on a Thursday and Friday and the children can come to school in their PE kits on that day.
Spelling tests are on a Friday.
