Welcome back to another school year!

 

My name is Miss Ropiak and I am the Year 1 teacher.

Year 1 is a very important year as the children are settling into a more structured environment.  I am looking forward to getting to know your child and working with them so that we have a very exciting and productive year. I hope that your child enjoys the new challenges and approaches to learning that Year 1 has to offer!

We will be covering many exciting new topics this year.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you and your child this year!

Here are some of our weekly routines:

PE takes place on Monday and Tuesday, so children should come to school in their PE kits on those days.

Additionally, we will have cricket on Fridays. Therefore, children should also come in their PE kits on that day

Every Friday I will upload onto Google Classroom phonics sounds and words for your child to learn how to spell. The children should practise spelling words with these sounds as they will have spelling practise every day in their morning RWI session.

Every morning the children read with an adult in a group setting. As a school, we encourage you to read with your child for at least 15 minutes every night and sign their reading record.

Homework will be set each Friday and should be submitted by the following Wednesday.
